.....for myself, that is. I love shopping for children clothes, for the house, for scrapbooking supplies and for food but not for clothes. I just never get it right, nothing ever matches, it is a big disaster zone.
A few years ago I decided to simplify the process, I decided that each winter I would implement a shopping system. All of them have had their downfalls but I am super excited about this years' one, I think I may be onto something.
One year I decided I was only going to buy cashmere!!! Hardly bought anything as it was just far too expensive to keep up!!
Another year I decided to just shop at one shop - Jigsaw. I chose an unfortunate year to do this as their main colour-way was mustard - it was not a great colour for me!!
The next year I decided that I wasn't gong to buy any clothes, just accessories. Jazz up my clothes a little - not sure I really pulled it off!!
Anyway, this year could be the one, this year I think I may have cracked it. I have decided that I am only going to buy grey clothes and accessories. I really think I may be onto a winner, so far so good. I treated myself to this grey T-shirt from JCREW.
I will let you know in a few months if it was a good idea? If you can think of a simple solution, I would love to hear it.
The newsletter will be out tomorrow and the October kit reveal at 8pm MST - far too exciting. Have a happy Wednesday.
I'm impressed with your shopping theory & prowess. Hope you enjoy your company.... Loved this two items for you but probably not together. You can search on Banana Republic by colo(u)r...

uhmmm interesting.... i guess for me, i always buy grey, black and white all year around... so not much to share on that front. :)
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see what you have in store for october....
What about letting your scrapping supplies help you with your shopping? Get out your favourit card stock colors and hold one sheet at a time under your face. If you look like your dead its not a good color, and if it looks like you have spent the last week with, lets say Brad Pitt, then its a good color.
ReplyDeleteMake a little swatch book of the colors that make your eyes and skin color pop and bring it the next time you go shopping! You can use it for accesories, clothes, scarfs, or more scrapbooking supplies... (hehehe)
Also, a good thing would be to make a list at home of what you need, that way you know what you are looking for when you go shopping! And, if you find something gorgeous, buy two. That way you can use one, and when it is worn out (or had an accident with some StazOn Ink...) you have a nice new one without having to leave the door at all!
I love shopping with others, in fact I´m dreaming of earning some money as a personal shopper. Unfortunatly I live on a tiny island with only 150 people... And no shops... :-S So for now its just a dream!!
