February Layouts

This month, I made a record number of layouts with the main kit. I am not really sure what was going on but I seemed to be knocking them out. I think it really helps to pre-plan the photos. I keep a 'scrapbook' file in iphoto and drag all the photos there that I think would be good for scrapbooking. I then take a look at the kit and upload the ones to Costco that I think would go well with certain papers. Once uploaded, I remove them from the 'scrapbooking' folder.

I also have a little see through wallet where I put the developed photographs that didn't quite work. Either I didn't get round to using them or they didn't quite fit. This is the first place that I check before uploading more.

I know that we all have our odd little ways of organising how and what we scrap. My little system seems to work but only really for my recent photos, I have boxes and boxes of photos from my pre-scrapping days and this is the year I vowed to sort them out. So after a lot of umming and arrhing, I decided to take Stacy Julian's Libraries of Memories class at Big Picture Scrapbooking. It was quite a lot of money, quite a commitment, (nearly 5 months) and I wasn't sure if I would like her way of doing things. But I thought I should give it a shot, I do need a bit of help and direction with all those photos. The class starts later this week, I will keep you updated on my progress.

So on to my layouts:

I made these little flowers out of the cream fabric strip. I rolled them up, glued them and then glimmer-misted them pink. I then cut up the little frills, (as they reminded me of petals) and just glimmer-misted them green. I am so pleased with the results.

I used my sewing machine on this layout. I got the heart strip of fabric and just kept folding it over whilst swirling round. I then added the paper heart and put the heart pin through it.
This is one of my all time favourite wedding photos.
This was tricky for me, I loved the paper but wasn't really sure how to use it. I am very happy with the end result.
Here, I used more pink glimmer mist. You can get a bit glimmer happy, that was me on this layout. Also, wanted to use up the rest of those LYB stickers.
I like how the two cupcake holders worked on this page, also with the vintage valentines card.

I also used my sewing machine on this layout. I used it to make the ruffles out of the black crepe paper.

This was the only page I didn't manage to use. I got the photo ready, (one of my heritage photos - my gr gr Grandfather). It was on my desk, waiting for inspiration to hit when the illness sneaked into my house!! So, didn't quite get to finish it. Will do.

This is all I have left from my kit. A few stickers, some left over alphabet, some brads, bling and my fortune telling fish. I have the perfect photo that I want to use it with, just haven't found the photo yet. It is one of those boxes that I spoke about earlier!!
These two layouts are from the CC kit. I am loving this kit this month, very pink!! I always scrap the CC kit after the Main Kit, not sure why but it is just how I end up doing it. I only managed to complete two layouts before the hospital ordeal. I will try to finish up though.

Ideally this is how I would use my kits every month. Get 11-12 layouts done, use up the majority of the kit so that I only have the smallest amount of things left to store. But, as we all know, it doesn't always work out that way. Anyway, happy scrapping and a happy Tuesday to you all.

I still haven´t used up any of my big kits (OK, so I only have two...), I´m a photo first, paper second kind of girl, and the papers are so lovely that I have to treat them right :-)

  6. Tara, you are amazing!!! You must be a multi-tasking genius...kids, husband, business, and still find the time to complete 13 pages. Actually, you have started on the 14th! How do you manage it all?

  7. Wow! What an amazing number of beautiful layouts! This kit looks great - gorgeous papers and fun embellies!
