Book Club

I have just finished reading this book from Jane Green, the queen of chic lit - love her books. Anyway, I was just looking at the inside cover when I realised that I have read all her books. I have been buying them as and when they have been released during the last 15 years. It got me thinking, we all have our favourite authors, out of those authors have you read all of the books that they have ever published?

Kathy Reichs is another of my favourites, great thrillers solved by forensic anthropology. I have read every single one of her books as and when they were published. I do however think that she is now just churning them out. I would even go as far to say that I think she is now just doing it for the money rather than the love of her character and the story!! Sorry Kathy!!

I have nearly finished this book by Bill Bryson, the truly amazing travel writer. This is the second of his books that I have read and I have a feeling he could become a new favourite of mine. He is American but lived in England for a long time, he also married an English girl so he has a very Anglo-American view on everything.

As you probably know by now, I love cook books, I can't get enough of them. I can not talk about books without adding a little cook book at the end. Now that it is starting to get a little colder and the evenings are getting a little darker, this is probably the perfect time to pull out my favourite 'winter' cookbook from the shelf. I am huge Delia fan, I like all of her books but this one is really special. Red Onion Tarte Tatin, Wild Mushroom Risotto and Gorgonzola Apple Strudel to name but a few of her offerings............

  3. Tara, maybe it's too simple but as a non-cook I really like the Company's Coming Rookie Cookbook. I have yet to ever screw up a recipe from that book.

As far as favourite author's: I love Jodi Picoult (currently addicted to her stuff); Laurell K. Hamilton (her books got surprisingly graphic as they went on); Diana Gabaldon (ohh Jamie, read it and you'll know what I mean!); big fan of the Twilight series; and I love Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta.

I read your blog about subscribing or pre-ordering your kits and I don't know what a good solution is. Pre-ordering is great but then you'll probably just end up selling out before the next month even hits (not that selling out is bad for you, but it can be frustrating for a customer who shows up on Nov. 1 to discover everything is already gone). I don't know what else to say (other than I'll take one of each kit up here in Winnipeg!!) ;)
