Wish List Wednesday

I saw this and thought I had gone to heaven, what could be more perfect than an Emma Bridgewater Polka Dot Aga? I will have to work on Prince Charming, wish me luck!!!

I bet some of you are wondering what an Aga is? It is like a Viking oven that stays on all the time, it warms your house, keeps your pets cosy and cooks the most delicious food. It takes a bit of getting used to as there are no temperature controls but once you get the hang of it, you never want to use anything else ever again.

In our old house in England we had the most wonderful Aga, it was so old-school that we had to fill it up with a bucket full of coal every day. Slightly messy but so romantic.

Here is a photo of me looking quite pregnant, cooking bacon on my beloved Aga, oh those were the days!!

  2. I remember cooking Princess Brynn's veg, meat and carb on your Aga with those scary dogs (well one) watching me.

  5. Wow! I can comment on 2 posts in one - One of my recent fav authors is Elizabeth Noble and she speaks of Agas in lots if her books and I always wondered EXACTLY what it was - knew it was an oven of some sort! A polka dot one ins quite a statement!!! Good luck with that!
Also - have to agree with you on the Kathy Reichs books - there are a lot of authors that I feel this way about - John Grisham, Danielle Steele, Jonathon Kellerman and the list goes on! Some all-time favs I do have include the Red Tent by Anita Diamant and the Book Thief by Markus Zusak, just about anything by Kristen Hannah, Jan Karon and Elizabeth Noble. I am also a BIG Stephen King (classics)fan! Enjoying the blog as always!

  6. Hey Carrie, thank you so much for all the recommendations. I am going straight onto Amazon to check them out. I haven't read or heard of any of them - maybe we should start a little book club. Very Oprah!! Thanks again Carrie.
