I Did It.............

It may have taken five months but I have done it, yay, I have reached my goal weight.

In August I did a post about this photograph I found of me at school. Not a great photo but it totally inspired me to try to become a thin person again. I can't actually remember ever being this skinny and was totally struck by how thin I was in this photo.

This is what I wrote in that post:

So I went to the bookshelf, blew the dust off my old copy of the South Beach Diet and got reading. I then wondered how much I weighed in this photo, it must be less that 10st, possibly 9 and a half. 9 and half seems too far to go, so I set my target of 9st 12lb. I have never seen a 9 on the scales since I bought them, not even sure if it has a 9 in there!!

So in a nutshell I can confirm that there is in fact a 9 on my scales!! In August I weighed 11st 12 (166 lbs). In the following five months I lost 2 stone (28 lbs). Today I weigh 9st 11.5 (137.5 lbs). I am one very happy girl with a wardrobe full of clothes that are way too big but that's not a bad place to be. Have a very happy Monday.

A Weighty Issue!!

A lot of my friends from England have been commenting on my weight loss, not surprising really as I have been rather weighty since embarking on the whole motherhood thing. This year I decided to try to be a thin person, I was sick of not being able to fit into any of my clothes, sick of looking at fat photos of myself and sick and tired of being overweight. So the weight loss began..........so far I have lost 24 lbs and I couldn't be happier.

This is the biggest I have ever been, I was 40 lbs heavier than I am now!!!

The secret to my success? The South Beach Diet, for me it really works. It is so easy to follow, the cook book has really delicious recipes and it makes total sense. In a nutshell, don't eat sugar and swap white carbohydrates for brown - pretty simple really!!

This week I am the sponsor over at 52 Sketches , up for grabs is one of the November Main Kits, (so if you didn't manage to get one before they sold-out, this could be your chance). You just have to make a layout based on this weeks sketch and upload it onto their website by Sunday. I am sure you are all familiar with 52 sketches but if not, you must check it out.

So have a wonderful Monday and just to let you know, I will be announcing that thing I had up my sleeve later in the week!!!

Busy, busy, busy.....

I have been super busy getting ready for the launch, (not sure if I will be ready by the 1st but doesn't really matter if I'm a few days late).

I have been ordering bits from.....

and a few bits from...............

and some lovely bits from.............

It is all so exciting and totally coming together. My website is nearly finished, I am really pleased with it. I have been looking for a current photo of me to put on the website and it is really tricky to find one that I am happy with.

Anyhow, I was looking through my old photos and I came across this one from school. It is not a particularly good one but something really struck me about it. I couldn't believe that I was ever that thin, I don't ever remember being that thin. I was thin-ish at my wedding but in all my adult life, I don't think I have ever been close. I know that I was 15 in this photo and generally 15 year olds are thin but it got me thinking. Maybe I could be that thin again, maybe I could really try to lose weight and see what it is like being a thin person with cheek bones.

I then did a menu plan for the week from the South Beach cook book. What a great cook book, the dishes are delicious. Three days in and I have lost 5 lbs, still a very, very long way to go but let's see where this journey takes me. Let's see if my cheek bones can be rediscovered and maybe my bingo wings will just fly away. Wish me luck and I will keep you posted.
